Diploma in Outdoor Adventure
Description: This programme is designed to offer students the opportunity to specialise in two outdoor fields, to NZQA Level 5. There are a number of day and overnight field trips. The duration of this diploma is 36 weeks, based out of our Porirua Campus.
Subjects include: Adventure-based learning, bush craft, kayaking, mountaineering, sea kayaking, white water kayaking, rock climbing, cultural awareness, giving and receiving feedback, outdoor first aid, risk management, training the trainer and trip planning.
Students will undertake extensive work experience during the year, and gain credits towards the National Certificate in Outdoor Recreation (Instruction) (Level 5).
Career Opportunities: Graduates are well-prepared for further industry qualifications and for working at management and instructor level in the outdoor education and adventure tourism industries.
Fees: $5,727.00 International Fees: $16,500 per year (NZD) Entry Requirements for international students! We need to be presented with evidence of considerable logged outdoor experience.
