Orange isn’t a colour.

It’s an attitude.

It’s bold, it’s confident and likes to stand out.

If this sounds like we just described you, then what are you waiting for? Sign up and get involved this summer!

We are looking for Orange people (no, I don’t mean people who have overdone the spray tan) for the following roles.

What: From day kayaking trips in Milford Sound, to multi-day expeditions in Doubtful Sound, you’ll be leading groups of 8 around the beautiful wilderness, so safety will also play a big part in your role.

Experience is a must, either with sea kayaking or in white-water. A tertiary education in the field and NZOIA qualifications are preferable but not compulsory.

Where: Based in Te Anau

Why: You love the great outdoors, have a sense of adventure and want to show off this playground we call home.

What: We’re on the hunt for someone systematic and operationally focussed to assist in the day-to-day running of our kayak base – from hands on physical activity to getting stuck in working on the computer.

Where: Based at our kayak base in Te Anau

Why: You thrive on organisation, love to work as part of a team but also excel at managing your own time and working solo.

What: Work as a team aboard the Milford Haven or Tasman Explorer

Where: Milford Sound (based in Milford) or Doubtful Sound (based in Te Anau)

Why: What’s the point of just visiting New Zealand’s most remote getaway when you could work and live there? Imagine a daily backdrop of mountains, waterfalls, sea and fiords, and if you’re lucky, whales, dolphins and penguins thrown in there for extra zing.

What: Take the helm of the Tasman Explorer, and navigate her through Fiordland and impart your local knowledge upon our travellers. If you have the right credentials, this could be the perfect job for you.

Where: Doubtful Sound

Why:  Spend your days taking in the remoteness of the fiord. You take pride in the work you do, are passionate about the beautiful place we call home, and would love to showcase it to travellers.

What: If you have a Class 2 drivers licence with a P endorsement, then you could be perfect for this role. We want a guide to take our travellers from Te Anau, cruise across Lake Manapouri and head deep into Doubtful Sound along the Wilmot Pass.

Where: Based in Te Anau, travelling to Doubtful Sound each day.

Why: The real question should be why not? You’d get to show off our beautiful back yard, drive the historic Wilmot Pass and bask in the serenity of Doubtful Sound.

What:  You’ll be working as a sales consultant at our desk in Milford Sound, as well as joining the boat crew on board the Haven.

Where: Based in Milford Sound

Why: You have a determined and enthusiastic sales approach, love the great outdoors and would thrive living in Milford, deep in the heart of Fiordland.

You may be wondering where the “When” comes in –  well, for all these positions we would like to have found the right people by August 22nd, for a September/October start, depending on the role.

To apply, please email Jobs@GoOrange.nz stating which role you are applying for in the subject. If you struggle to do this, you’re just making our decision easier…
