Reports To: Op’s Manager / Trip Leader
Working Areas: Base And River
Experience / Qualifications Necessary
Shall hold a current approved First Aid Certificate
Shall have 3 years experience
Shall hold a current appropriate Skills Active rafting qualification
Shall be authorised by the Manager to act as a guide
Shall provide a record of evidence of river and Mountain Biking experience and training
Working knowledge of field based raft and mountain bike repair
Shall understand and carry out duties and responsibilities of this position as described below.
Main Function: To guide customer’s safely on Adventure Trips.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Customers.
Duties & Responsibilities of Position
To load trailer with appropriate equipment for the trip.
To provide customer’s with safety briefing/training.
To look after customer’s on the river (own or other boat loads as necessary).
Washing, cleaning and storage of equipment.
To inspect rafts before and after trips for wear or damage, report it to Trip Leader.
To communicate to Management any gear needing repair.
Cleaning / tidying of base.
Reporting of incidents / accidents to Trip Leader.
To assist and / or coordinate emergency procedures.
To take part in safety culture discussions instigated by trip leader, identifying hazards and ways of avoiding mishaps.
Working Conditions / Degree of Effort Required: Daylight hours, Due to the nature of our work, river environment, all weather conditions, river levels and hours are all varied.

Must pass a pre employment Drug test.

We are looking for fully qualified New Zealand grade 3 river guides to work in and around the Central North Island this summer. Applicants must be self starters who are able to work as part of a team and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. Minimum of 3 years experience preferred
