Seeking Passionate Outdoor Instructors/Facilitators

The Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre has a full-time instructor role for a positive, adaptable and energetic outdoor instructor with the drive to make a positive difference in young people’s lives. Join us and facilitate our multi-activity and journey programmes. If you are an inspirational instructor who is committed and enthusiastic then this is the position for you!

 

The Boyle is a leading outdoor education provider, located at the southern end of the Libretto Range in the Lewis Pass area. We are surrounded by bush, mountains and rivers that afford us unique outdoor experiences for clients and staff alike. You will be working alongside a dedicated team to help inspire and extend the potential of young people to be lifelong learners, nestled amongst the majesty of the Southern Alps.

 

We offer staff ongoing training opportunities, a great working environment and free accommodation while working at our centre. All staff are required to be vetted by the New Zealand Police, and be successfully inducted into our Safety Management System. NZOIA qualifications are desirable in Bush and Rock, and Ropes Course experience is essential. However, we are happy to support and train people with less experience, but the right attitude! What will you be doing?

 

Programmes are varied from 21 day Coast to Coast expeditions to 3-day experiential learning camps with objectives centred around each groups desired educational or developmental outcomes. Each with a strong focus on sustainability, resilience, integrity and respect. But one thing never changes, you have the opportunity to provide safe and enjoyable instruction in the NZ bush environment and deliver this with your individual personality and experiences. Your flair is key!

About Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre

The Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre is operated by the not-for-profit North Canterbury Alpine Trust. We are based 15km south of the Lewis Pass, nestled between the Sylvia Tops and the Libretto mountain range.

We are an Outcomes focused Outdoor Education Centre and tailor every programme to meet the objectives of the client group. All our Educators are highly skilled and have vast skill sets, enabling them to facilitate learning in many different activities, situations and locations. The Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre achieve this by realising the quality of the experience both learning and fun is directly linked to the quality of facilitation and instruction. As such we invest and provide ample resources to our instructional team, ensuring that the Boyle Standard is meet and exceeded.
