Franz Josef Glacier Guides can trace its guiding history back for over 100 years and has become well known across the globe, for providing some of the most incredible glacier experiences.

We are on the hunt for new glacier guides with prior outdoor or guiding experience to join our team and become part of the whanau. If you are genuinely passionate about the outdoors and creating a once in a life experience for people, this is the job for you!

We have fixed term positions available starting mid-winter/spring 2019 through to the start of May 2020, with a potential to stay longer for the right applicants.

Once you’ve joined the crew, you’ll undergo world class training to get you up to speed… However, the training doesn’t stop there! There will always be the opportunity to upskill and progress through the company. This includes the chance to obtain your Hard Ice Guide level 2 qualification through the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association. This internationally recognised qualification can be used as a steppingstone to become a mountain guide in New Zealand or to further your glacier guiding career overseas.

We’re after someone who:

* Has previous guiding/outdoor experience or tertiary education in outdoor education
* Has a great work ethic and a flexible attitude
* Enjoys the outdoors in their personal and professional life
* Is physically fit and active
* Has a charismatic personality and is a natural entertainer
* Works well in a team and keeps calm under pressure
* Can work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays
* Holds a first aid qualification
* Is open to learning new skills and Ngai Tahu culture and stories
