Overview

Position summary:

The basic function of the Lead Guide is to ensure the daily operations of Ziptrek are running smoothly, safely and efficiently, while maximising guest enjoyment. Lead Guides act as a mentor and manager to their assigned Guide groups.

A minimum commitment of 2 years is required for this role.

Qualifications and experience:

 

• 1 year zipline guide experience or 2+ years relevant guiding experience at heights preferable

• Pre-hospital First Aid Certificate

• Proven leadership skills – minimum 12 months in a lead, senior or supervisor position

• Understanding of health and safety risk management especially at heights and in an outdoor environment

• Experience in training or teaching

• Excellent interpersonal / communication skills – ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately both verbally and in written form

• Intermediate computer skills

• A valid driver’s licence

• Physically active with the ability to lift 45 kgs (100 lbs)

• Demonstrate exceptional judgment and sound decision making skills appropriate to the environment

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• Strong technical skills related to guiding and course operations

• Enjoy working in a team environment

• High level of integrity and professionalism

• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision

• Keen to continue learning and pursue personal growth

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Authorities

• Carry out verbal & written warnings. Written warnings need to be in consultation with Operations Manager.

• Able to remove anyone from the course/ desk if they are causing potential safety or customer relationship issues

• Able to order course evacuation

• Dealing with Level I, II and III incidents

• Assume the Operations Manager role in the event that the Operations Manager and Senior Lead Guide are absent
