I am a hardworking and highly motivated Outdoor Pursuits instructor and Youth Worker from the UK with ten years’ experience working with young people with six years specific outdoor pursuits experience. I am looking to move back into the outdoors after breaks of four years were I have been working intensely as a youth worker.
I hold permanent NZ residency Status.

In addition to my qualifications I have 6 seasons experience running a wide range of outdoor activities and program, as well as a great deal of personal climbing, paddling and tramping trips.

My duties include Creation of a Volunteer Strategy throughout the greater wellington area including a Youth Leadership program to work alongside our camp and OSCAR programs, recruitment, training and management of Volunteers throughout the region. Grants applications for volunteer projects. Creating and managing stakeholders.
Management of three OSCAR approved holiday/ After School programs, managing a staff team of 30+, recruitment, staff training and retention. Planning and developing high quality holiday Programs. Creating and managing a budget.
In addition I worked on a casual basis at the YMCA camp Kaitoke, I used my outdoor background to develop their Activity Assessment Standards, Update Equipment Check and Maintenance check list, as well as running a number of water and land based activities.

My role as a volunteer outdoor pursuit’s instructor involved taking cross community groups on outdoor activities. I then assumed the paid role of assistant director of their summer camp. As assistant director my duties included; managing a paid and volunteer staff of 14, running staff training courses, assessing staff competencies on various activity’s, health and safety assessments, book keeping.

Interests/ Hobbies
I am keen climber and climb twice a week on average, I have taken a number of people under my wing and have been able to safely introduce them to the sport. I also am an active member Adventure wellington and enjoy getting out and tramping, sea kayaking and surfing on a regular basis.
IN addition I am a keen Musician and enjoy playing music as part of my work with young people and with other musicians; I play as a solo musician (guitar and vocals) on a semi-professional basis, playing in a number of local bars across the greater wellington Region.
