Experience
English Teacher
Anh Doung Preschool Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
11/2013– current
As a classroom teacher built rapport with 9 classes of students. Created nurturing atmosphere though sensitivity to student’s strengths, weaknesses, and personal learning styles. Engage young learners through humor and interesting activities to maximize interactions. Develop a curriculum appropriate for student’s skills and abilities that reflects their needs and interests. Demonstrates classroom and time management skills with the ability to work with a very large and diverse staff and student body. I love each child and treat them all as individuals due integrity and respect. It has been so amazing to experience Vietnamese culture first hand by being included in many school activities like celebrating the lunar new year, learning about different foods, and even trying some traditional dance. I feel so blessed for all the families I’ve met that have also hired me to do lessons at their homes, they have brought a view of daily life and shown me their personal views on their rapidly changing culture and country to me.
Personal Trainer
California Yoga and Fitness Center Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
6/2013-current
I have had extensive sports training through CYFC, the biggest corporate gym here in Vietnam. I have a gained a working knowledge and understanding in corrective form, program design, nutrition planning, and
Functional training. This has been a part time position taken on more for personal benefit and growth. It is a great feeling helping others to gain the power to reassert a healthy living style and work towards creating self love and positive body image. All great bodies look different but share the same characteristics of strength, flexibility, endurance and acceptance. Working of the body begins with working on the inner self and being able to help anyone grow as a person is an amazing experience.
Jewelry Manufacturing
Outcast Microfoundry Seattle, WA
10/2011– 05/2013
As a wax injection specialist I was responsible for wax model production, secret mold making techniques, and wax cleaning in a foundry. Our establishment used very eco friendly techniques and always made environmentally conscious choices with recycling of certain materials. Outcast is proud to say they support green practices. I used high attention to detail to ensure customer orders were produced to quality standards in an efficient and speedy manner and worked with other departments to insure we met our production timeline. Also I did a lot of problem solving when creating new molds for casting which had me thinking outside the box and often looking for another point of view. It was very important to be a team player since each department relied on one another to produce an order, for example; if one casting did not turn out I would have to remake the wax models (sometimes hundreds of pieces, possibly a wholes day’s work) in a quick and efficient manner without losing composure due to the pressure of completion to insure our orders were on time. I also had to carefully manage my time to insure a rush order or remakes could be completed by their due dates. Each department had to keep an open line of communication for our production to be successful. Sometimes I would work in other departments and learn new skills to be able to help them reach their time goals when I had downtime in my own department. It was amazing to see what artists can create and a real privilege to help them produce their handmade designs in greater quantities. Being an artist myself I have always respected the hard work and soul that goes into chasing your passion and I’m glad we could offer services to allow them to create a living from their passions. At this position I could also explore my creative side to breathe life into my personal designs as well.
Barista
Uptown Espresso Seattle, WA
01/2009– 05/2013
I worked in the very competitive high quality Seattle coffee industry for one of the biggest local chains. I was a responsible and personable key holder with varying shifts at multiple locations. I am comfortable doing closing reports, orders, deposits, trainings, relationship building and using elbow grease to ensure quality. I have had extensive espresso training and latte art abilities. Once again being a team player is very important, as some stores would be very busy with four people working to take orders, prepare espresso, prepare milk and ring up orders. We had many locations and I worked with a staff of over 40 employees, each day was different and always a fun new challenge. It was great getting to know many customers who frequented our shops and also wonderful to share some of my local knowledge with travelers looking to explore the city or surrounding areas.
Customer Sales and Support
Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Benedum Center, Pittsburgh, PA
10/06-07/07
Provide customer service support and sales through inbound phone calls using computer based systems. Included the ability to quickly file through seating arrangements across many dates and times using proper phone etiquette to keep customers engaged and patient. Had the ability to look up information within our system about previous purchases, problem solving, and answer queries about directions, hotels, and dining recommendations. Proven ability to work well under extreme pressure on opening sale days hundreds of sales calls would be answered and completed during a longer shift. I really enjoyed being able to help people feel confident in their purchase and excited to enjoy their theatre experience.
