Ø  Carried out a dissertation study in the area of Sport Psychology, looking at the effects of sleep deprivation on ultra-endurance runners, and the techniques used to combat its detrimental effects on endurance performance during competition.

Ø  Completed modules in Human Physiology, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Sport Psychology, Biomechanics and Skill Acquisition.

Ø  These modules provided a strong foundation of knowledge which has enabled me to develop as a sport scientist and increase my academic development.

Employment History

 

October 2014 – October 2015: Scott Sports UK

National Sales Manager – Running Division

Ø  Managed the sales of Scott Running footwear on a national level around the UK.

Ø  Responsible for over twenty independent accounts selling our footwear.

Ø  Supported national running events with marketing and event POS.

Ø  Managed UK and International Scott runners with personal requests and race entries.

Ø  Demonstrated excellent organisation and self-motivation through self-planned weekly store visits across the country.

Ø  Dealt with PR and Media requests to help boost brand awareness and increase sales of footwear through successful marketing campaigns, promotions and reviews in magazines.

Ø  Supported accounts with technical training within store to staff on the footwear.

Ø  Personally increased Scott UK running division annual turnover by over  50% within 1 year.

Volunteer Work

 

August 2003 & August 2004: CMC Outdoor Centre, Pensarn Harbour, North Wales

Assistant Outdoor Instructor

Ø  Undertook two separate 1- week volunteer work placements at a respected outdoor activities’ centre on the coast of North Wales,

Ø  Assisted instructors with various outdoor activities for young children with learning difficulties

Ø  This volunteer work helped develop my leadership and communication skills, having to provide group instruction in challenging outdoor activities, whilst further developing my love for the mountains.

 

 

Key Achievements

 

I am extremely passionate about the mountains and this is most apparent through my love of climbing, skiing, triathlon and ultra-distance mountain running, which I spend all of my spare time out of work pursuing.

I have been fortunate enough to travel and explore some of the most beautiful mountain ranges around the world and this is the underlying reason for my time living in New Zealand.

Triathlon / Climbing / Skiing Highlights

Ø  8th place* in ½ Ironman distance mountain Triathlon – Wasdale Triathlon, Lake District-2014.*First Triathlon completed.

Ø  Built up a large amount of climbing experience over 15 years – Rock (Trad, Sport, Bouldering) & Ice/Mixed Climbing in: England, Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, South Africa, USA and Australia.

Ø  Spent 5 consecutive summer seasons exploring the French, Italian and Swiss Alps carrying out a variety of Alpine (Mixed/Ice/Rock) climbing and Ultramarathon races.

Ø  Extensive amount of Summer/Winter Alpine Climbing in: France, Switzerland, Italy, and Poland.

Ø  Carried out various Ski/Ski-Touring trips in Scotland, England, France, Switzerland and Italy.

Ø  8th place in North West of England in British Regional Youth Climbing Series (BRYCS) at the age of 15.
